Says fun music and dance therapy can prevent chronic disease

Angel Kidney Care of Inglewood Dialysis Center, located at 994 S. La Brea Ave. in Inglewood, presents free health screenings along with music and dance therapy on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. led by Medical Director Zahra Tabassian, M.D.

Dr. Tabassian, known as the dancing doctor, is the popular kidney and internal medicine specialist who offers Dance-Away Diabetes Therapy with Dr. T™ that helps treat and prevent diabetes and related chronic disease. Anyone who may be concerned about weight, high blood pressure, diabetes or kidney disease is invited to participate in this free event with healthy snacks.

“I am on a personal and professional mission to reverse our diabetes and kidney disease epidemic,” says Dr. Tabassian. “I truly believe our underserved community’s health problems may be solved through ‘Dance Away Diabetes,’ a series of low-impact dance and music therapies that inspires and educates people to get up and move. Combined with faith in one’s God, optimism, happiness and improved lifestyle and nutrition we can and will dance away our health woes,” says Dr. Tabassian, who also hosts a live one-hour health call-in radio show on KTYM-AM 1460 on Fridays at 5:30 p.m.

Dr. Tabassian has just completed an inspirational memoir titled, “My Dance to Life: God’s Call to Health, Happiness and Success” available on Amazon.com beginning Oct. 22, 2012.
